"I grew up in the Bay Area and began riding and showing ponies at a very young age. My junior years were spent training with Karen Healey in southern California. After a successful junior and young amateur career in the equitation ring, I spent time working with a number of great professionals who helped me to grow my fondness for the jumper side of the industry.
In 2003, after earning my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at St. Mary's College of CA, I opened Shady Lane Farm, LLC at my family’s facility in Alamo, California.
Over the last twenty years, I have been blessed to have ridden some incredible horses who have given me opportunities in the ring that I never would have imagined were possible. They have shown me who the true athletes of our sport really are, and I am fortunate to be able to continue to learn from them on a daily basis.
As a rider and a coach, I believe that our sport will always continue to progress, and in order to stay at the top, and in order to continue to provide the most accurate and up to date coaching techniques, it is critical that we as instructors continue to learn.
Matt and I are proud to offer a training situation that is based upon the theories of positive teaching, and one that incorporates good solid horsemanship and time honored riding techniques."

"I grew up in and around the Fresno, CA area. I had the privilege of spending time with the great Bob Walker as a kid. After graduating from Fresno State with a degree in Animal Science, I traveled to work in Europe. Upon returning, I joined Lindsay in Alamo to cultivate a business at Shady Lane Farm.
Lindsay and I have been fortunate to start a business together while also raising our family together. Through the years we have had wonderful clients that have supported us both in our own riding and in the business on the whole. All the while, our family oriented philosophy has created a warm, welcoming and supportive environment for our clients and their children, as well as our own.
We are proud to be known for our small but horsemanship based program. Our schedule reflects our number one priority of putting our horses first. And our system acknowledges the importance of teaching our clients to be horsemen and not just competitive riders."
